Optimizing Corrosion Resistance and Sealing Performance of Chrome-Plated Thin Sheets in Can Manufacturing

The corrosion resistance of chrome-plated thin sheets is inferior to that of tin-plated thin sheets, so both require the use of inner and outer coatings. The coated chrome-plated thin sheets exhibit particularly excellent adhesion of the coating, making them suitable for manufacturing bottom covers and drawn cans. The can body is generally produced using fusion welding and adhesive methods. Additionally, rust is prone to occur along the sealing edge when sealing. Therefore, the following measures are generally taken during sealing:

(1)Adjust the distance between the sealing machine's pressure head and the bottom plate appropriately.

(2)Ensure that the grooves of the curling rollers are not worn or rusted.

(3)Chrome plate the curling rollers with a thickness of 5-10pm.

4Ensure that the pressure and shape of the curling rollers are appropriate.
