Drying Process and Quality Control for Can Lid

Drying Process and Quality Control for Can Lid

The complete process for can lid involves: stamping, adhesive application, and drying. Drying is the final step and requires strict monitoring of its process and quality. Here’s a detailed analysis of these aspects:

1. Dry Adhesive Amount: Different cap types require varying amounts of dry adhesive (with attention to the corresponding density and volume of the sealant). For products needing high-temperature sterilization, it is especially important to control the minimum dry adhesive amount and its uniformity, particularly in areas where the adhesive overlaps.

2. Coating Position: Use specialized clamps to flatten the cap edges and carefully observe and measure their positions and dimensions accurately.

3. Visual Inspection: Check for any overflow, splashes, breaks, or air bubbles in the adhesive, and ensure the overlap areas are uniform.

4. Moisture Content: Accurately detect the moisture content of the dry adhesive film using a weight loss method.

5. Boiling Test: Conduct a boiling water test or simulate sterilization at high temperatures (100/121°C for 30 minutes) and observe any changes in shape.

6. Scratches: Carefully inspect the entire cap for any scratches and check its orientation.
