Briefly analyze the main technical requirements of a roll pattern and the important mold foundation for obtaining a good roll pattern

The miniature double-sealing of two-piece beverage cans is divided into the first double-sealing (usually called "one roll") and the second double-sealing (usually called "two rolls") according to the process. After the first roll seal is completed, the crimping of the lid and the flanging of the can begin to snap together. As an important basis for double sealing, one-roll results (especially graphics) play a crucial role in the formation and stability of the final sealing results.

Main technical requirements for a good one-roll graphic

Under today's inspection conditions, the one-roll forming pattern should become a mandatory inspection item in the process of wrapping evaluation, which is a technical concept that needs to be comprehended.

In addition to the appearance inspection of a good first roll seal, and the contour lines of the lid hook and the can hook are smooth and smooth, the cross-sectional pattern needs to meet the following "fifteen-character formula", that is, "contact without contact, the end of the can hook, end of cover hook".

Contact without contact The rounded corners of the roll cover of the lid are in contact with the rounded corners of the can flanging; the lid hooks and can hooks that have been initially formed are not tightly attached to the surrounding metal, and there is a certain gap.

Can Hook Ends The ends of the can hook have no sudden inflections or bends.

The end of the lid hook The end of the lid hook should be parallel to the can wall as much as possible, and the end of the lid hook should not point towards the can wall, nor over-rolled towards the can flange.

In a word, the direction of the tail of the cover hook and the direction of the end is very important, which is an important factor affecting the final cover hook result and the final curling result.

Several types of bad cover hook tail trend and end pointing

As shown in Figure 3, the trend of the tail of the cover hook has begun to have a tendency of excessive bending, and the direction of the end of the cover hook does not meet the requirements. However, due to the small angle between the end of the cover hook and the can hook, during the second rolling process, the flow of the metal at the end of the cover hook still has the opportunity to "follow the trend", and the effect on the final sealing result should not be too great. So it is still reluctant to accept.

In the one-roll pattern shown in Figure 4, because the tail of the cover hook is excessively bent, the end of the can hook is embedded too deep, and the insertion angle is too large. It is easy to appear extrusion marks (Figure 5) and even metal cracking, which belongs to the category that needs to be improved.

The can hook too deep, and the embedded angle is too large, which needs to be improved.

Hook at the tail is too much embedded in the can flanging (can hook) that has also been bent. After the subsequent second rolling, an obvious trace is formed on the can hook.

Figure 6 shows the result of a rolling pattern that the tail trend and end point of the cover hook do not meet the requirements. There are two reasons: on the one hand, it comes from the improper setting of the roll seal, and on the other hand, it is inconsistent with the groove and the cover hook edge. The right match doesn't matter.

One of the prerequisites for a good cover hook is to properly match the rolling groove and the cover hook edge. The proper matching of a rolling groove with the cover hook edge is an important condition to ensure a good cover hook. Improper matching of the cover hook edge to the one roll groove is one of the main reasons for the abnormality of the one roll pattern cover hook. Figure 7 shows a visual comparison of a common misfit and normal fit of a roll groove and easy-open hook edge.

Choose the best one-roll groove, such as Angelus R77 or equivalent one-roll groove. Practical experience has told us more than once that up to now, Angelus R77 or equivalent one-roll grooves are the easiest to get a standard one-roll pattern, and the best use effect. Other grooves, including Angelus R90, R94 and other groove types, are not well matched with the 202 easy-open lid hooks currently used in my country's domestic and even larger regional markets. various problems arise.

Because the first roll is so important, in terms of equipment, well-known sealer equipment suppliers such as Angelus, Ferrum, CFT and so on have added special designs that can open the second roll track to the sealer equipment they manufacture, so that they can be easily obtained when needed. A roll of samples for evaluation.

It is precisely because the first roll is so important that Ball Asia Pacific has also included the graphic requirements for the one roll and the recommendation of the roller groove in the revised version of the rolling standard and training materials, hoping to help our customers to enhance the importance of the one roll. more comprehensive understanding and attention to the links.

Proficient in the effective adjustment of the working system of the sealing machine. However, even if a roller groove is good, if it is not adjusted properly, it will also produce bad graphics as mentioned above. Better hardware conditions do not mean that there will be no problems at all. It is also necessary to use effective adjustment methods for the working system of the sealing machine. For example, Ball Asia Pacific Co., Ltd. A systematic, standardized and practical method for adjusting the working system of a sealing machine.
