Can Lid Quality Control Requirements
Three-piece cans consist of a top lid, a bottom lid, and a body. Each component is crucial, necessitating thorough quality checks. Below are the process and quality requirements for can lid:
1. Correct Mold: Ensure the mold system is correctly installed, the gap between the upper and lower cutting edges is accurate, the slider height is adjusted properly, there are no foreign objects in the mold area, and the safety protection device is functioning normally.
2. Outer Diameter of the Curl: Carefully check the entire cap curl for any deformation and use a caliper or other instruments to measure its dimensions at three or more points along the circumference.
3. Opening of the Lid Edge: Carefully inspect the entire lid edge for deformation or uneven sizing, using a caliper or other instruments to check its dimensions at three or more points along the circumference.
4. Height of the Hook Edge: Thoroughly examine the entire hook edge height for deformation and measure its dimensions using a caliper or other instruments at three or more points along the circumference.
5. Depth of the Counter-Sink: Use a depth gauge to measure the counter-sink depth at three or more points along the circumference.
6. Shoulder Bottom Dimensions: Carefully check the shape and dimensions of all parts of the cap.
7. Height of the Bead: Use a depth gauge or other instruments to measure the bead height at three or more points along the circumference.
8. Flatness: Stack several caps and carefully inspect them to ensure they are flat and uniform all around.
9. Fractures: Inspect the entire cap for any breakage or tearing.
10. Deformation: Examine the entire cap for signs of deformation and conduct appropriate dimensional checks.
11. Wrinkles: Check the entire cap for any wrinkles, especially at the hook edge and the sealing plane.
12. Scratches: Inspect the entire cap for scratches and carefully check their orientation.
13. Hook Edge Damage: Examine the entire cap for any damage to the hook edge and ensure the spacing of the cutouts is uniform and the cut edges are smooth and even.
14. Count for 2-Inch Caps: Use a specialized caliper to check the count of caps for every 2 inches.
